OC Connections proudly hosted the opening of the Oakleigh Historical Society exhibition featuring over 60 years of OC Connections history on Monday 6 February at the Monash Federation Centre.
The event was officially opened by Steve Dimopoulos, State Member of Parliament. Steve commented that it was wonderful to see so much history from one organisation on display, particularly from an organisation that is still relevant now and continues to have a wonderful future ahead.
In attendance were the Mayor of Monash Rebecca Paterson and Deputy Mayor Stuart James who were also joined by several Monash Councillors. We would like to take this opportunity to again thank Monash City Council for their generous support of the exhibition by way of a grant.
We are delighted that the following distinguished guests were 
able to join us and we thank them for their continued support, David Moody – State Manager of National Disability Services, Clare Walker – Senior Practice Advisor from the Office of the Disability Services Commissioner and Peta Denham Harvey – Project Manager from the Department of Health and Human Services whose management and support during our redevelopment project has been invaluable.
It was wonderful to see past CEO’s and staff of OC Connections at the event mingling with current management and staff who were all delighted with the outcome of the exhibition and the wonderful displays.
Our sincere thanks goes to both Dr Andrew Kilsby (President of Oakleigh Historical Society) and Helen Gobbi (past President) for their amazing work with this project, from cataloguing all our documents, photographs and other artefacts, to the final set up of the exhibition. This exhibition couldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for their dedication and input, and for being so helpful.
The exhibition is open from
Tuesday 7 February through to Thursday 20 April on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s only between the hours of 10am to 5pm and is free to the public.
